Old school FOB fans, get stoked!
Eyal Levi takes you on a guided tour of the raw multi-tracks for “Lake Effect Kid” by Fall Out Boy, from their 2018 EP of the same name and originally mixed by Sean O’Keefe.
This one is a treat for old school FOB fans, and gives you a chance to see how they do things in a raw, no-frills setting! A few things to note:
- Patrick Stump’s vocals are as powerful and unique as you’d expect
- The guitars (from Patrick and Joe Trohman) have some really interesting details to the arrangement, and Pete Wentz’ basslines compliment nicely
- Andy Hurley’s drumming is absolutely locked-in, which is key to making arrangements like this work with so many layers and staccato rhythms that will sound terrible if they’re not locked-in this tightly
