He uses FabFilter Pro Q 3, Soothe, the UAD Pultec EQ and Metric Halo Channel Strip in Pro Tools, but the same approach should work with any plugins or DAW.

In world where everybody is looking for unique drum sounds in their plugins or digital signal chain (and there’s nothing wrong with that), this is a good reminder that sometimes it’s a good idea to turn off the computer and think about how you can create unique drum sounds at the source by working with drum room and how you capture it.
