We got a tour of Sam Pura’s weirdly-but-accurately-named DRUMBRELLA while we were in town for him to mix “Light Year” by The Story So Far on Nail The Mix.
In world where everybody is looking for unique drum sounds in their plugins or digital signal chain (and there’s nothing wrong with that), this is a good reminder that sometimes it’s a good idea to turn off the computer and think about how you can create unique drum sounds at the source by working with drum room and how you capture it.
