This song has a LOT of vocals: dozens of tracks from their female vocalist Elize Ryd and male vocalists Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson and Nils Molin, so it’s all about making precise moves to manage this massive session.

Jacob Hansen uses some basic EQ, compression, Mod Delay III, a Lexicon Reverb plugin and some smart routing to make it all come together into huge, powerful, in your face metal vocals.

Patrick Stump’s vocals are as powerful and unique as you’d expect
The guitars (from Patrick and Joe Trohman) have some really interesting details to the arrangement, and Pete Wentz’ basslines compliment nicely
Andy Hurley’s drumming is absolutely locked-in, which is key to making arrangements like this work with so many layers and staccato rhythms that will sound terrible if they’re not locked-in this tightly

In world where everybody is looking for unique drum sounds in their plugins or digital signal chain (and there’s nothing wrong with that), this is a good reminder that sometimes it’s a good idea to turn off the computer and think about how you can create unique drum sounds at the source by working with drum room and how you capture it.
