URM Academy was founded by producers Eyal Levi, Joey Sturgis and Joel Wanasek. Combined, they’ve produced, engineered, mixed and mastered 100+ albums by bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Attila, The Contortionist, The Black Dahlia Murder, Of Mice & Men, Asking Alexandria, Ice Nine Kills, Machine Head, and dozens more.
Separately, they’d built companies to help the next generation of metal producers learn the craft like Joey Sturgis Tones, Drumforge, and Eyal’s work with CreativeLive. And after crossing paths a few times over the years and realizing how much they had in common they decided to join forces, and in 2015, URM Academy was born.
