There’s a first time for everything
Erik Ron talks about working with Jonny Craig for the first time on “I’d Rather See Your Star Explode” by Slaves, and goes over his signal chain and process for mixing.
In particular, take note of what he says at the beginning about why he DOESN’T do doubles for everything. Remember that the point of all this is to make great music that moves people, and there are no rules other than “if it sounds good, it is good,” and slavishly following a signal chain isn’t always a recipe for success.
